Thought for the Day: Starving for affection.

Posted by Journey to Light Sunday, September 25, 2011

I think we are starving for authentic affection in our society. We long to be truly intimate on a level where we are seen, met and touched to the core. Yet if we are afraid to be revealed and exposed we close off to people, and that real meeting can’t happen.

It’s no wonder the advertising industries uses sex like a dangling carrot, to pull us in over and over. I don’t think its sex that people are really looking for though, underneath the ads of half naked picture perfect women, is a longing to be really met and seen and appreciated for who we are, on all levels.
