Thought for the Day: Spiritual Intimacy

Posted by Journey to Light Wednesday, September 7, 2011

When you look at someone in your life as if they are a total mystery, or a perfect stranger, then you can truly meet them. Being spiritually intimate with someone is like meeting them for the first time in every moment; meeting them like you would a stranger in each situation. When I practice meeting the people in my life as if I am meeting a stranger, I can watch them emerge fresh, all the time. As soon as I think I know something about them, there is no longer this level of deep intimacy, because I am only meeting my minds idea of them, and not the real thing.
